Treating psoriasis (psoriasis)
The dermatologist Dr. Urs Büttiker, MD, will discuss a tailored treatment for you in detail.
Psoriasis is a common, chronic inflammatory skin disease that affects around 1.5-2% of the population in Switzerland. In addition to the skin, the disease can also affect the nails and joints and cause considerable physical and psychosocial distress.
Although there is currently no real cure for psoriasis, there are numerous treatment options available, which in many cases can achieve almost complete freedom from symptoms. These include various local therapies, UV therapies and systemic treatments, including biologics.
- Topical and systemic treatment
- PUVA therapy
- Light treatment (see light therapy)
- Treatment with biologicals
All light treatments are available at the Bern Bubenberg dermatology practice.
